What does it take to be happy at work?

Picture was taken by Joann while in Italy

I think the first thing in learning to be happy at work is to let go of the ego.  Often we use work as a way to define our value to the world.  I'm guilty of this and I got a whole lot happier once I was no longer connected to any workplace outcome.

There is no job on the face of this planet worth connecting your intrinsic value to.  The reason is that our life on this plant is going to pass by us really fast.  For some it will be gone sooner than others.  One person didn't know he'd die of a gun shot wound from a mass killing while at a concert.  If that person knew that was his last day what do you think his focus would be on?  It sure wouldn't be work.

Take time to look at the mountains and marvel at beautiful artwork those who came before us left behind.  Make your own artwork to leave behind!

Take it all in, soak it up and be amazed that you even get to see what is before your eyes no matter where you are.  When you really stop to think about it - it is a miracle you get to be here to see all of this.  When people are assholes just laugh, look at the mountains and take it in.

Really, it's absolutely amazing we have eyes to see with and we can see and feel what is here in this world.  It is a privilege to see this.

It's all about our perspective on the world!

With love,

Joann
