Our Value to The World

It is very easy to feel that life as we know it in this day will be the same as we will know it later.  It isn't until we begin to age that it becomes clearer that time passes very fast and soon it will be over.  Soon, and I do mean soon, we all will pass over to the other side and life on this planet as we know it will be done.

It is easy to wrap ourselves up in a job clinging on to what we do to help us build our self-worth and value to the world.  But look at this crazy pure breed Bloodhound Barron.  He doesn't have a care in the world nor does he care about the drool sliding down the both sides of his face.  Yet, he loves everyone and everything about life and always seeks to make it fun.  We call those slingers and eventually he shakes his head and they wrap around his long powerful nose.

Freedom and happiness can come when we don't tie our value to the world to our jobs.  Just live life and take time to look at the mountains, a fresh mountain stream, lake, trees and soak in anything else that suits your fancy.  Because.....before you know it, our time will come to leave.  It's an absolute miracle we get to be here to do any of this.

Warmth,

Joann

What does it take to be happy at work?

Picture was taken by Joann while in Italy

I think the first thing in learning to be happy at work is to let go of the ego.  Often we use work as a way to define our value to the world.  I'm guilty of this and I got a whole lot happier once I was no longer connected to any workplace outcome.

There is no job on the face of this planet worth connecting your intrinsic value to.  The reason is that our life on this plant is going to pass by us really fast.  For some it will be gone sooner than others.  One person didn't know he'd die of a gun shot wound from a mass killing while at a concert.  If that person knew that was his last day what do you think his focus would be on?  It sure wouldn't be work.

Take time to look at the mountains and marvel at beautiful artwork those who came before us left behind.  Make your own artwork to leave behind!

Take it all in, soak it up and be amazed that you even get to see what is before your eyes no matter where you are.  When you really stop to think about it - it is a miracle you get to be here to see all of this.  When people are assholes just laugh, look at the mountains and take it in.

Really, it's absolutely amazing we have eyes to see with and we can see and feel what is here in this world.  It is a privilege to see this.

It's all about our perspective on the world!

With love,

Joann

Before we get going,

Before we get going I'd like to let you all know that I actually have 4 blogs.  Each has a distinct purpose.

1.  Exploring Leadership: https://corporate-heart.blogspot.com/

I started this blog a long time back.  I began blogging at a time when I'd been bullied and mobbed within a job I was working at.  I was angry at what was then happening.  But, it's now been some 7 years.  My mind has healed and I am ready to tackle this from a different and perhaps better perspective of really helping others who may be having a hard time understanding corporate dynamics.

2.   Hughes-Insight-BlogSpot:   https://hughesinsight.blogspot.com/

Currently changed to "Writers A Game"      may change again

This blog was started to specifically talk about books I have written.  While I typically go by the last name of Evans I still write under the name of Hughes.  I wrote my first book called Brad's Omen when I carried a married name of Hughes.  This blog will talk about all of the books I've written, am writing and give you more perspective on them.

3.   True-Bio-Health:   https://truebiohealth.blogspot.com/

I started this blog because I wanted to talk about health in a very pointed manner.  Over the years I have seen a very distinct change in people in the workplace.  I have helped to make cancer drugs and medical devices.  I've had my own health challenges and this blog will take a look at some disturbing facts I've come to learn.  I am a microbiologist so have a good understanding of biology

4.  The Happy Employee: https://emcolorado.blogspot.com/

This blog is intended to simply get right to the point of what it takes to be happy in the workplace today.  The world is always changing and will continue to do so.  We have to adapt but this blog will bring a slightly different perspective to get there.  It comes from the school of hard knocks as I had a bunch to learn the hard way.

Everything I write is with God at my side and intended to help others become stronger and happier.

The Happy Employee.....

I thought to start this Blog a while back but never got it going.  It came at the heals of working at a job where I was not only bullied by one person, I was mobbed by the organization.  I started one blog and then dumped everything because everything I was writing carried with it that anger I felt for how I'd been treated.  I'm a good ways past this and my PTSD brain has significantly healed.  But, I have undergone yet another job lay off.

Along the path I knew I needed to start something that would help me leave my industry of pharma, biotech and medical device.  So, I began to look into coaching.  I took a coaching class and this led me to later become a certified Gallup Strength Coach for individuals, leaders and teams.  I have a website now as shown below.  After experiencing such abusive work environments I noticed that many people in the working world were angry, stressed and over worked.  This was causing people to act out and not really understand that they were acting primarily from the primitive side of their brain.  Mindfulness was absent.

So, I set off on a path to learn about what it takes to be happy at work.  This blog will specifically speak to this subject.   I do hope we can get some conversations going.

My website is located at www.emcolorado.org.

The goals with my new path in life is to help people navigate the world to a happier place.

Warm regards,

Joann
